THE BOWELS OF HELL THAT IS IN
A TEXAS PRISON.

BEFORE YOU CONTINUE, I am requesting that you PAUSE, and look upon inmates as HUMAN BEINGS –

My son, an inmate, in your prison is

After ten years of constant communication, my beloved child is no longer calling home, or writing. My fear is that he will continue to deteriorate. The forensic psychiatrist and psychologist said he would. Their reports were never presented to the newly appointed Judge. Convicting my then newely fifteen year old, mentally ill since birth, CHILD, is in for MURDER.

Bryce did NOT shoot his best friends father. That’s in the police report. Nor is he CULPABLE for this murder. This is also in a report. In fact the news dubbed this story MURDER or MANIPULATION. Bryce was easily manipulated. The news was told to hush about my son’s mental health history. Bryce was set up.

CONVICTION is all that mattered. He’s now 25 and yes, he’ll always be MY CHILD, MY SPECIAL NEEDS BABY, MY BELOVED SON. Bryce is a handsome young man, a life wasting away. Will he ever get married? Will I ever have a grandchild? He’s deteriorating in Prison because

“HE WAS MENTALLY ILL TO BEING WITH. In my care here in Florida he was fine. Shortly after moving to Texas, to spend time with his Father, Bryce ends up in Prison. All well documented.

Prison is destroying him, destroying me. His father and our older son Brett, had abandoned Bryce, years ago.

I have called the SKYVIEW UNIT and each time I’m told Bryce is free to call or write to me. I don’t know what to believe anymore. He’s NOT calling or writing. He has received letters from TWO very ATTRACTIVE WOMEN, one all the way from IRELAND! and he’s NOT responding? Do you know what that is? That there is A MASSIVE RED FLAG!

Maybe he’s not receiving any Jpay emails, letters, books, magazines, photos and or cards that are being sent to him. This would further his deep depression. And harm our strong bond.

ANY NUMBER OF REASONS COULD BE APPLIED.

1. DEATH-SUICIDE-MURDER-He is DEAD via SUICIDE or Murdered by another inmate or by prison personnel BLUNT-FORCE.

2.MALNUTRITION- He is too weak due to the LACK of NUTRIENTS because the food is worse that what is served a STRAY CAT. And or because he’s being fed two small meals a day, such as a baloney sandwich, a chocolate chip cookie and a cup of contaminated water.

3. RAPE-SNITCH-INMATE VIOLENCE- He’s been GANGED-RAPED and knows if he SNITCHES, it will only get worse. If you SNITCH, your going down, DOWN into THE BOWELS of HELL. I’ve heard first hand and second hand accounts of weakened inmates like my Bryce, being knocked out and raped, then sent somewhere to have their rectum stitched up, Only to be raped again and again as in PIMPED OUT for food, favors, drugs and more.

Is this what is meant by OUTSOURCED VIOLENCE? This system, that is unable or unwilling to protect an inmate from inmate assaults. Apparently, these acts of violence are only “NOT” okay, if they are done OUTSIDE of prison. Inside is another story.

By now Bryce knows there is NO GUARANTEE that reporting RAPE is going to solve the problem. Besides the fact you would now be known as a SNITCH, It’s my understanding that PREA reports are very carefully look over, or carefully OVERLOOKED, this is done in order to keep statistics down.

4. INCOHERENT- HE is INCOHERENT from repeatedly BANGING HIS SKULL up against The CONCRETE WALL, because of the mental anguish and or he just wants to be DEAD instead of being DEHUMANIZED and CRIMINALIZED because he was born PREDISPOSITION FOR SCHIZOPHRENIA, And he has schizophrenia. Managed with medications.

5. EXTORTION-He is being EXTORTED. All his phone funds and commissary funds are GONE.

MORE VIABLE REASONS.

6. GOVERNMENT-FUNDS-PRISON PERSONNEL want Bryce’s thirty year sentence to be IMPRISONED for LIFE, for the sake of THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR BILL. 💰 Thus they have cut his ties to the outside world. Is this part of the FIRST STEP ACT? I have witnessed Laws do the OPPOSITE of what they are suppose to do.

7. BRAINWASHED- He’s once again been brainwashed to go against the only family member left that LOVES HIM, HIS MOTHER.

8. THE HOLE-SOLITARY CONFINEMENT-ADSEG-ADMINISTRATIVE SEGREGATION. Inmates have been place in these for DECADES…DECADES. ISOLATED for
D-E-C-A-D-E-S. Is my son in one of these isolated spaces?

9. HE HAS BEEN MOVED- Has he been moved out of SKYVIEW MENTAL HEALTH UNIT? Is he now in an undisclosed location? Where is my son? WHERE is my son!

10. THE EMERGENCY ROOM AT A LOCAL HOSPITAL- Has he been sent by ambulance back to the Emergency Room? Is he okay? Is my son alive? Is my son ALIVE!

11. INCORRECTLY-DIAGNOSED-Did you change his diagnosis? From what I know, the mental health care is way below any viable standard. Percription drugs are plentiful. Inmates with schizophrenia are NOT suppose to be placed in the LARGER more DANGEROUS UNITS. They did this to him twice before. I’m surprised he’s still alive.

IN ENDING THIS POST I ASK OF YOU ONE LAST THING. PAUSE… Think about my Bryce and others, think about me as a
parent. NOW picture yourself, and YOUR LOVED ONE in our place. This could happen to anyone and IT IS happening.
To those that know and live what my son and I are trying to survive… It is hell on earth. IT IS BRUTAL.

I have thought about making videos whereby I am talking about Bryce’s tragic position. I haven’t because a lot of the time, I just cry. The cruelty that’s flourishing in PRISON INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX, is trying to crush my beloved son and I. 💔

In my opinion, the main reason children are deemed competent adults, is because funding is higher for adults, omitted rehabilitation and they can given longer sentences.

I believe someone has made up a false habitual offender arrest record possibly dated MAY 05 2009. I did a background check on Bryce after this tragedy happened. He had no prior arrest. In the courtroom the defense told the Judge his client had never been in trouble with the law before. This was Honorable Judge L. k. Jarrett's first murder case.

Ten years have passed. He's now 25. He no longer has involuntary muscle movements. His tics from Tourettes, subsided years ago. There's more to TS than tics. His mental health is managed with medication. My Tourettes is finally mild!

Bryce believes in God. He does not swear, smoke or do drugs. He has no gang affiliation and no tattoos. He loves and respects me. Prison life is deteriorating him both mentally & physically.

The defense attorney Anthony B. Cantrell. was hired by Bryce's father, David Vandergrift, who was given immediate plausible deniability and has stopped communicating with our son since early 2013.

There are clear violations from being alone when waiving his Miranda Rights and giving a false confession in which he continued to have the details of crime wrong. No one told him there is substantial evidence to show that even the victims wife had motive, means and opportunity. Or that the weapon supposedly found near Bryce's father's home, was not the murder weapon.

A witness went to the station and told police about her involvement. The wife and her son wanted Mr. Fred Cantu dead, before they met my mentally disabled child. She was a speech pathologists for special needs children" like my Bryce. I have the police report.

What's in the courts case against my son is not what happened. Bryce's history and this case is well documented. I believe this is why I've been denied transcripts. Bryce still believes this was a Capital case and a jury would have given him a life sentence or death penalty. The court case also has fabricated negative information about me as a mother. It's meant to discredit me and is common practice in cases like this. The 55 page forensic psychologist report outlines that this negative info is also false. She told me if this case goes to trial, she will be a witness for Bryce.

My son was told that he had shot a man three times in the chest with a shotgun while he laid asleep on the couch. Bryce said "oh I did"!? as he nearly fell backwards onto the floor tipping back in his chair, in his own astonishment! I was there. The autopsy report shows victim was shot once. Fred Cantu died during surgery at the hospital. I have the report and posted it online. Bryce continues to believe what he was told he did.

No one told Bryce that there is a 55 page forensic psychologist report, stating that he is not culpable for any part in the states case against him. And she found my 6'1 child, to be an incompetent child.

While EMS was working on the victim, he told police his own son Nick shot him. It's in the police report. As is a blood splattered t shirt upstairs in Master Bathroom, a shirt known to have worn by the victims son.

An officer suspected the victims wife and wanted her investigated. Why wasn't she investigated? The lawyer told the newly appointed Judge, well your honor, it looks like my client was the shooter!

I still live in Florida, Hillsborough county, Bryce is in Texas. I am a six year honorably discharged veteran. Could Bryce get transferred to Florida? He and I are all we have.

 I did not attend the sentencing hearing. It was too much for me. I was under a bridge off Roosevelt street, near my hotel feeling suicidal, until I again realized that I'm all Bryce has and I'm the only one that cared/cares about him.

 It's my understanding that NickCantu her nephew and the real shooter, was not admonished. By now I am sure Melinda knows my son did NOT shoot her brother and that he was manipulated to be framed. Bryce still believes he did this.

• Skyview/Hodges Unit Personnel, removed my son's long time diagnosis of schizophrenia/bipolar and replaced it with major depression/severe psychosis. NOTE: severe psychosis is a symptom of schizophrenia. So he's back at skyview/hodges getting drugged up, then they will return him to dangerous coffield.

• I believe that my sons SCC state classification code of his mental and medical health, has been downgraded in order to fill an unexpected empty bed at the Coffield Unit Prison, in Anderson county, TX. I also believe his long time G2 good rating has been increased to G4 without justification.

It was May, 2019 Mother's Day month, I took my credit card and flew out to finally see my world: my son, who was at Monford Unit Psychiatric Facility. I would stay for two weeks.

Pretty much everyone I encountered treated me with respect. It worked both ways. Looking and listening to my son, I could see that he had significantly deteriorated both mentally and physically.

Bryce Is at least 6"1 maybe 6'2. When he was fifteen he was 6" ft. He was taller than anyone in the court room, yet the youngest. He had lost a lot of weight. He has a long reach but he doesn't have any muscle mass. He was obviously on prescription drugs that were given to help him. He seemed weak and tired easily.

I was not allowed to hug him or even touch his hand. We visited with a plexiglass between us and talked to one another through a phone. Tears streaming down my face. It had been almost ten years.

He ate the snacks I bought as if he hadn't eaten in a few days. I'm talking about $20.00 dollars worth for each visit. I was granted extra long visits, I was happy about that.

His skin was the color of milk, almost translucent. His teeth had skrank to half their size. He seemed smaller, thinner. Still, it was wonderful to finally see him again. I was sad for him and myself but my heart felt good.

What happened before

While Bryce was at Beto unit, he was so gaslited that he had a psychotic break down. He believed certain people on TV were talking to him. He was breaking away from reality. He started to hear voices. The voices caused him believe I was being hurt. He said he heard me crying for him to help me. He believed that I was being extorted. My son was ready to die for me.

He was transferred to Montford Unit. There he was again medicated and treated for these psychiatric problems to include suicidal thoughts.

I had received a phone call from a Mr. Stephen Bryant who told me my son needed to be in a safe keeping unit. I was very relieved. Bryce was sent to the safekeeping prison at Price Daniel Unit.
Within a very short time Bryce was beaten up by some big guy.

My son was sent to the emergency room where he was cared for and given liquid stitches on his face. He was sent to Montford Unit again. I asked: "What happened, ALL these years of not fighting?" He told me: "Mom, sometimes in prison you can't avoid a fight." When the guard asked him who started the fight Bryce didn't answer.

I had every reason to believe he would return to Price Daniel Unit and that the man that put my son in the hospital would have been moved and or warned. But that isn't what happened.

I know that Bryce liked that unit. He told me he had more opportunities to go to worship services. While at Price Daniel he had asked me to send some books on bushcraft, surviving and living in the wilderness. He always like that kind of thing, he has extensive knowledge on that subject. He can make formidable Youtube videos.

From Montford to Skyview Unit

Then I stopped hearing from him and stopped getting letters from him. I became concerned again but all I could do was wait. What I didn't know was that he had been transported to Skyview Unit, which is a psychiatric facility near Beto and Coffield unit. This is where I believe his classification was changed. It appears he has been punished for the fight that had put him in the hospital. He was sent to Coffield.

I believe that minimising his mental health conditions and changing his good conduct rating to a rating that is not factual, is what had to be done in order to have that empty bed in Coffield unit occupied. Over the last few years this units tragic and seemingly avoidable deaths have been steadily increasing. Whose's bed was Bryce given?

Recently

Almost two weeks ago I started to get a gut wrenching feeling that my son was in danger, that he was going to die. I started researching for information about who I could contact. There's some serious stuff on the internet about that unit. It only made matters worse.

I was calling the unit but I wasn't getting far. So I called every day, sometimes a few times a day. I couldn't help myself. Each person I talk to, the details about my son were different. He was alive but not doing well.

I was told that he's in Segregation for two weeks. It's a more secluded part of the prison where one is locked in a cell with another person 22 hours a day. I think it's one of those cells that just have a slit in the door, with limited air flow. I bet those walls radiate the cold from outside.
One person said Bryce was separated from the general population because he was having problems with some inmates. He stated that he is in fear of his life if he is sent back there.

Another person told me Bryce was suicidal. Again, my son is no longer equipped to handle these fights or the manipulation. There's over four thousand inmates at that unit. Price Daniel safekeeping unit had over one thousand.

Is he on his meds? Or did the declassification stop those? I'm suppose to wait for him to sign a release form before I can find out. I'm just trying to help my son.

I kept being told he's free to call me. Then why hasn't he? I know something is wrong. I kept calling and finally a person went and got him. He was somewhere with this person and on a speaker phone. It was good to hear his voice even though he didn't sound good at all. He wouldn't tell the person in the room anything. He didn't trust him. We talked about him getting into protective custody. He said it isn't that easy, he has tried. I told him I'm going to keep trying to find him help. So I guess he can call me if he's in a room with prison personnel? Hmmmm. Something is WRONG.

I started to believe he's being extorted, controlled etc all over again. This would explain why I've received mail from people in Coffield unit wanting me to write them. One wanted me to be like a mother to him. It breaks my heart but there are rules of respect for other inmates' family members.

Prison personnel I think are taught to put it all on the inmate. Oh and tell them to grow up. One can get a beating by going outside, but one still can go. It's like with the unit having air conditioner. Oh there's a/c, WE HAVE A/C. The inmates don't and in the winter, all they have a is blanket and a jacket.

Last month I had solicited about six people online who agreed to write to him. I had no shame. The outcome could be good. He wasn't writing back. That's not like him. He would write thank you. I knew when I saw him at Montford that he was losing hope. He said so. A letter, a photo, a card could increase his hope.

After talking to the warden I started emailing all around Texas and sent about five emails to Ombudsman prison liaison office, who in return told me that they will investigate the matter and after Bryce signs a release form, I'll be mailed via post office, the results. I felt better until I searched the internet and people posted about their own situations and posted that the Ombudsman will side with the prison's actions. I feel helpless; so I'm going to write and send mail "To whom it may concern". What else can I do?

Bryce doesn't know that we have the same fears: fear they'll add more time, fear he'll never get out. The fear I'll be too poor or old to help him. For years now, I've been dealing with my own Tourettes Syndrome which erupted at the end of 2013. My tics and twitches are mild now. It's been rough. Ever since he's been wrongfully convicted, I've been walking around with a broken heart.

On 12/31/2009 last day of the year, my 15 yr old minor-son was arrested for the murder of his best friends father. Before he died, the victim named his murderer, he said his own son Nick, and it is part of the original police

MY SON IS NOTHING MORE THAN A HUMAN BODY, ASSIGNED A NUMBER, WHO HAS A BED OR MAT ON THE FLOOR, INSIDE A CELL, DRUGGED UP AND DETERIORATING. 💰

From day one, all were told that the victim had been shot three time. Bryce and I were told that same thing. My son still believes it.

In the police report the victim's wife said her husband was sleeping on the couch because he had back problems. I don't believe this. I believe they were having serious marriage problems and discussing divorce. There are entries in the paperwork that validate this.

did the victimes wife tell her husband about what the social worker said that their son had violent tendencies towards his father? Why were there unsecured weapons and ammo in the house? I DON'T THINK THE WIFE TOLD THE HUSBAND OR WOULDN'T HE HAVE LOCKED AWAY HIS WEAPONS AND AMMO? A gun supposedly found near bryces fathers house, COULD NOT HAVE BEEN THE MURDER WEAPON.

Bryce's case in unpopular in that it has no basis in race. I believe this is one  reason story is being ignored. He and I are being ignored.

It is my belief that the continued fighting between races,  the continued chatter about race, only serves to divide, and is why people in the United States will never be in any position, to fully or adequately win, or even put a serious dent in any battle against any perceived or real oppressor.
My son is a “WHITE BOY” The injustice system didn’t care if he was purple.*Convict is all that mattered.

INCARCERATING THE MENTALLY ILL

I think CHILDREN ARE DEEMED ADULTS so they can be given longer sentences and that the funds received for an adult is the higher amount. I also think children and adults that have mental illness are preferred. Why? because they generally get more time while incarcerated. If they are deemed adults then you don't have to both with rehabilitation. The system can make money off of prescribing medications. 

Much of the time mental illness is considered a behavior problem.

Example, my son is deeply depressed, and afraid.

He wasn’t taking showers or going to group meets. He has schizophrenia and is DEEPLY DEPRESSED! THE SHOWER IS ANOTHER PLACE THAT RAPES HAPPEN.

These behaviors are looked upon as being negative attitude and refusal of sorts. A mentally ill person is laying in the bed crying for their mom! I used to believe we were the greatest nation on earth…
I don’t even want to live on this planet anymore, but my son needs me.

What is it that my son and I are missing that is keeping us from getting help?

I am a mother who is trying to save her son.   On 12/31/ 2009 my 15 yr old minor-son was arrested for the murder of his best friends father.  Before he died, the victim named his murderer, he said his own son Nick,  and it is part of the original police report.

Officers found a blood splattered t-shirt upstairs on the floor in the master bathroom floor, This is a shirt known to have been worn by the victims own son and also part of the police report. Nick was named an assessor, Bryce was named the shooter and  planner!

A highly respected forensic psychologist named Doctor Joann Murphey in Texas, wrote a 55 page report in defense of my minor son.  She found my 15 year old minor son NOT culpable for any part in the case against him.  And she found my 15 year old son to be a child. Her report was never presented.

Based on compelling evidence I believe the victims wife to be the mastermind behind the murder of her husband.  I believe she exploited my son and used him and his vulnerabilities for her own financial gain.  A witness came down to the station and told how the victims wife was involved. He said she was giving my minor son drugs, alcohol and money.  As bryce's mother, I want to know why wasn't she investigated?

An Officer requested the victim's wife be investigated, yet there is nothing to show this happened.  According to our laws she should have been arrested and charged accordingly.  When officers arrive the victims wife had blood on her hand, arms and night shirt. She told police that when she heard gun shots in her home she came down stairs to see what was the matter.

After tending to the victim she said she saw the back door open, so she shut it, locked it and went back upstairs in fear of her life. Nick told the police his best friend bryce did this, she said bryce was her sons only friend.

There were a lot of officers called to the victims home that day. From my research it is clear portions of the police report have been redacted, amended and revised on dates other than the date of the crime.  In fact, all pages pertaining to statements taken, including my son's, were written over seven days after the date of the crime.

My son was alone when he waived his miranda rights.  Bryce has a well documented medical, mental, educational and social history. according to our laws he is not allowed to waive his rights, let alone be deemed a competent adult and sentenced plea agreement to 30 years within 7 months after his arrest. Bryce was still only 15 yrs old.

My name is Ms. DorothyMarie-MichellePelletier.  I am a Veteran and the mother of a minor-child named Bryce. My son has been unjustly incarcerated in a Texas prison. Arrested 12-31-2009

Bryce has a Neurological Disorder with it’s Cognitive and Learning Disabilities. His disability status is O.H.I. Other Health Impaired. I believe he has been set up / exploited before, during,
and after his arrest for this reason.

As per the San Antonio police report, on December 31 2009 the victim Fred Cantu Jr, was shot
once in the chest in his home while he laid asleep on his couch. Nick, Fred’s oldest son told
the police that his best friend Bryce did this. When police arrived EMT was there. Fred was still
alive and was asked who was responsible for this? he answered Nick. I have the police report
which proves this as fact.

My child was alone when questioned, arrested and waived his Miranda Rights. He was
interrogated without an attorney, and I believe he was manipulated and coerced into giving a
false confession. This shooting was never properly investigated once the confession was
obtained.

At the time of his arrest my son was 15 years old, 6’1 and had failed the 8th grade.  Since
2007 for just 3 years our son was living with his father David and stepmother Patricia. In early
2006 Bryce’s father wanted our son to spend some years with him, Bryce wanted this too as
he loves his father. David told me that he would give our son more opportunities than I could
afford. I wanted our son to have more. In 2007 I agreed for Bryce to now live with his
father in Texas.

I had divorced Bryce’s father in Tampa in April 1999. Florida holds Jurisdiction over our divorce decree and it’s agreements / settlements.  CASE-99-3728B. My maiden named was restored I have not remarried. Our Joint Custody/Shared Rights remained. Our son had been
in my care in Florida since 1996. Bryce was born 09/09/1994 while we were overseas. I wasn’t aware that my former husband had been enticing our child with material things. David told Bryce about the three large plasma televisions he had, we didn’t have one. He told our son that a dog named Chip was waiting for him in the back yard. Bryce was happy.

After January 4th 2010 Bryce’s father hired an attorney. His father was given immediate plausible deniability. I was excluded from decisions and when I was included I was lied to. My Parental rights continued to be violated. My signature was obtained under false pretense.

Within six months after my child's arrest he was deemed a competent adult.  I was present during these hearings and watched key persons prompt my child. Whenever he was told the details of what occurred and of his participation in it, he believed it he still does. At one hearing he wanted to plea not guilty, instead he was given more time to think about this.

His confession wasn’t good enough to convict him because at least 6 months after his arrest, his lawyer coerced him into confessing to all state charges. This was done so that Bryce could accept a plea agreement of 30 years. My son was told this is a Capital Murder, Bryce feared a jury would give him life or death.  He waived his right to appeal.

The charges were that he intentionally and knowingly caused the death of the victim by shooting him and that he did this with an accomplice named Nicholas. Bryce was told that there was no evidence to suggest anyone else could have done this. On July 16, 2010 my son was convicted. At this time in a convincing manner Bryce continued to repeat what he was told and as if it had originated with him.

The Police report shows that inside the victims home a blood splattered t-shirt was found upstairs in the master bathroom. An Aztec America known to be worn by the victims own son. In the attic officers found unsecured weapons. The victim's wife had blood on her hands, arms and night shirt. She told police that after hearing gunshots she came downstairs to see
what happened. She saw the back door was open, so she shut and locked it and went back upstairs in fear of her life. She told the police that Bryce was her sons only friend.

She stated that both her sons were asleep in the bed with her. An officer asked her youngest son if it was common for his brother to sleep with him and his mom, he said NO. She told the police that Bryce was her sons only friend. During this time she was working as a Speech Pathologist for children with special needs. She told my son she was a Nurse.

Several of the many officers at this home went to Bryce's father’s house. The technician with them gather black clothing items from different parts of the house, including a mask and gloves which had nothing to do with the crime on December 31st 2009. There was no blood in this house. A shotgun is said to have been found in Bryce’s fathers backyard.

Later at the station a witness tells a detective how the victim's wife was involved. In a divorce she wouldn’t get the house and the money, he said “she wanted both”.  Some of the things his witness told was that Nicks mother was supplying Bryce with drugs and alcohol, and that she would sometimes do these with him and give him money. A second witness was not
questioned. This case is based entirely on a confession elicited by police from a minor with a developmental disorder. Nick's word and a shotgun said to have been found in Bryce's father's backyard.  Bryce was never given a gun residue test.

The defense hired a forensic psychologist. She was told Bryce was the shooter. Her report found my child to be a child and that he was not culpable.  Her findings confirmed his disorders that are covered under State and Federal Laws.  Bryce's cognitive deficiencies/developmental disabilities are evident in her tests and evaluations.  She noted that years before moving to Texas,  professionals in Florida including a Neurologist had diagnosed
Bryce with this genetic disorder.  She tells of his well documented history of being successfully treated while in my care and by his same Florida doctor since he was four years old.

Doctor Joann Murphey of Texas, recorded important facts of Bryce’s life since moving to Texas and the care of him. She noted that before his arrest there is over six months of drug and alcohol abuse and that only one of his medications remained, which he stopped taking in 2009.

After Bryce was arrested key personnel for the state case wrote false statements about me as his mother and of my health. In their findings, they wrote false statements about my child's history while living in Texas and in Florida. The Forensic Psychologist for Bryce’s defense documented that their statements are contrary to Bryce’s well documented history of continued progress and success, including what they wrote about me as his mother,  is not substantiated.

The forensic psychologist Doctor Joann Murphey of Texas, Found Bryce not culpable of any part in the case against him. Her report was never presented on behalf of my son, I have her report.

Medical Professionals told me that when Bryce arrived at the detention center he was disassociated. He was put on a high dosage of Prozac and 300 mg of trazadone. Bryce remained on these drugs
throughout all the court hearings. During his competency hearing Bryce was zoning in and out.  He was prompted by adults to give answers they wanted.

On September 9 2012, Bryce will turn 18 years old. He is scheduled to be transferred into a  notorious adult prison.  My son does not belong in prison or with adults, he belongs back in my care here in Florida where I have lived since 1996.

NOTES:

All fallacies against myself and my son have originated after he moved to Texas in 2007. Basically I was being discredited. 

My rights have been violated before, during and after my child's arrest.

The two court reporters Holly Dietert and Candy Zavaoa continue to deny me copies of the court transcripts. What's in the case files is not what happened. 

In 2010 while in Texas, I reported Bryce's father and other adults to DFPS. In return the counties CPS wrote false statements about my ability to care for my child. 

According to our laws there was/is enough substantial, compelling and circumstantial evidence to have arrested the victims wife Grace and Bryce’s father.

Bryce met Nick and his mother in May 2009.  The Vandergrift and Cantu homes are in walking distance.

Mr. Lamar D. Elliott, LSW/LCSW a clinical practitioner was the social worker for the Cantu Family. He told the victims wife that that her son Nicholas had violent tendencies towards his father and to take this warning serious. After receiving a Grand Jury Summons, Mr. Elliott turned over his records to the District Attorney's office. 

The defense attorney also hired a forensic psychiatrist whose report was not used. The lawyer refuses me my copy of this report. I believe Doctor Joann Murphey has her copy.

In the year 2008 Bryce’s stepmother moved out of the home she and David had purchased mid 2003. In February 2009 Patricia R Vandergrift filed for a divorced. The divorce was finalized On June 26, 2009. CASE-2009-CI-02457. Recently Patricia sold her share of their house to David L. Vandergrift. David also owns a home in Saint Augustine Florida that was left to him when his mother died. She left him some lots of land in another state also.

In July, 2009 NISD, Northside Independent School District had informed David that Bryce did not meet the state required task test in math and reading. He had failed 3 of 3 tries in reading and 2 of 3 tries in math. Their recommendation was that our minor son be retained in the 8th grade. Bryce’s father disagreed with the school committee and wanted them to promoted our son to the 9th grade.  In August 2009 during a meeting the committee now agreed with David,  including the removal of all the accommodations for Bryce’s learning disabilities. The IEP, Independent Education Program is for students with special needs. Our child's IEP has been in place since he was in Kindergarten. This was removed, I was never contacted.

The Probation officer/case manager wrote that academically my son is average to above average. This is what the detention centers academic testing reflects.  My minor-child has never scored this high in all areas and all at once. For this test he was given the answers.
His well documented educational history is his proof.

Bird-shot pellets and wadding were recovered, one cannot match these items to any particular shotgun. The weapon supposedly found near Bryce's father David Vandergrift's house, is NOT the murder weapon.

Several of Nick and Bryce’s friends said that Nick had wanted his father dead long before he met my son and that he had solicited others to kill his father.

Nicholas Daniel Cantu, Bio son to the deceased. Co-Defendant/TDC 0165880 /Public defense Attorney James S. Wheat #785225. Nick plead no contest and was named an assessor. He accepted a Plea Agreement of 30 years and his testimony against Bryce should this case ever go to trial. Nick is allowed to appeal.

Both youths were tried separately in front of a newly appointed  (Oct 2009) Judge. The Honorable Judge was appointed to preside over the reopening of the Juvenile court

The courtroom is in the same building as the Juvenile Offenders Detention Center. Two prosecutors attended these hearings. In July 2010 she hosted the Christmas in July event. It was election year and she was campaigning. This was her first murder case/ruling. 

After my minor son's arrest I asked him about this crime. Bryce did not know what he did or if he had shot the victim. He has important details about the crime scene WRONG. What he thinks he did is contrary to what is in the police report.

Bryce’s history is his proof that while on his daily medications, therapy as needed and his school assistance in place for his Learning Disabilities, This Minor-Child was doing GREAT!

Before his arrest my child was diagnosed with Bipolar, while in prison at the age of 16 Bryce was again diagnosed with this disorder. On his medications he was fine.

 June 2012 they put him in solitary confinement because of the pictures he and his new cell mater drew. He spent at least 7 days in the hole. In the end he preferred this confinement because he was safer, he avoided 2 riots that broke out, and he was able to sleep a lot.

David L Vandergrift, Bryce's father, paid the lawyer.
